Who We Are

Solutions for injuries and medical issues are not one-size-fits-all. At Maximum Impact Physical Therapy, we focus on treating the whole body rather than single issues in isolation. We offer an extensive range of services and therapeutic techniques to help improve movement and function, leading to decreased pain and improved quality of life.

  • Dr. Shyla Mesch, DPT

    Dr. Shyla Mesch

    PHYSICAL THERAPIST & OWNER

After earning her doctorate in 2013, Dr. Shyla initiated her career as a physical therapist in a traditional outpatient orthopedic and sports clinic. Frustrated with limited patient care, stressful productivity measures, and insurance constraints, she opened Maximum Impact, her own clinic, seven years later. Dr. Shyla's primary goal is to prioritize personalized care, dedicating one-on-one time to each client and adopting a holistic approach that examines the entire body, seeking dysfunction beyond the isolated injury. This approach enables her team to address the root cause of injuries rather than offering temporary solutions.

Specializing in diverse patient populations, including active adults, fitness enthusiasts, endurance athletes, weightlifters, student athletes, and weekend warriors, Dr. Shyla, transitioning from a CrossFit athlete to a mom-lete, understands the significance of injury prevention and maintaining strength for everyday life.

Using a multi-disciplinary approach, Dr. Shyla employs various soft tissue techniques such as dry needling, instrument-assisted soft tissue work, muscle energy, and joint mobilization. Trained in Muscle Activation Techniques, she is the sole practitioner in New Mexico using the Neubie Estim device.

Bobbi was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She attended Western New Mexico University on a golf scholarship, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology with a minor in Business Administration. Throughout her college years, she relished the opportunity to travel across the USA, engaging in golf competitions with peers from various universities.

Furthering her education, Bobbi attended the University of New Mexico and obtained her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in May 2022. Post-graduation, she enjoys leisurely biking along the bosque, walking her dog Remington, playing Sunday golf, and exploring new sports like pickleball. Over the course of her career, Bobbi has held roles at another physical therapy practice as a clinic manager and clinic lead physical therapist.
