No physician referral is needed to get evaluated by a physical therapist. New Mexico is a direct-access state. However, it is always a good idea to consult with your physician about existing conditions.

Insurance Information

Do you accept Medicare?

We are in-network with Medicare Part B, but as of now we are not contracted with any Medicare Advantage Plans. If you have specific questions about your particular plan, please give us a call. We’d be happy to verify your benefits. Having a referral from your physician is helpful but we can work around that as  long as you have a primary care physician.

Why do we only work with a few Insurances?

We work for our patients, not insurance companies. In our experience, the patient is far better off when the insurance company isn’t dictating care. We also want to spend as much time as possible helping people – not completing forms, waiting on hold, dealing with claims processing and arguing for appeals. Unfortunately, our healthcare system is profit-motivated, not patient-centered. We do the best we can to reverse that trend!

Why choose a private-pay physical therapy provider over a clinic that accepts insurance?

While most practices focus on high-volume bookings, we focus on individualized treatment in a quiet, private, and relaxed setting.

Insurance-based clinics are limiting.

Therapists at clinics that accept insurance are generally required to see 3–4 patients per hour and usually spend an average of 15 minutes of one-on-one time with each patient. At Maximum Impact Physical Therapy (MIPT), you will spend your entire appointment time with a focused therapist or aide who will provide individualized attention for your specific needs.

Insurance also limits what areas of the body a therapist can focus on during a single visit. At MIPT, we have seen time and time again that holistic, whole-body approaches to therapy result in faster and more complete healing.

What does that mean for you?

Fewer appointments and a quicker return to the activities you love. This also means less time taken from work, family, hobbies, cost of travel to clinic, expensive babysitters, and more.

Can I get reimbursed through my insurance?

In most cases, the answer to this is YES! The easiest way to do this is use Reimbursify. For most insurance companies, you can find a claim form on their website. Simply print it out and submit it along with your receipts and treatment codes we can provide for you. The amount you are reimbursed is dependent on your “Out-Of-Network Physical Therapy” expense benefits.

Don’t forget that your services are HSA/FSA-eligible medical expenses, just like any other physical therapy clinic. Consider the savings of being able to pay with pre-tax dollars!

Payments

Our rates are standard, no matter what treatment you need. Most patients only require one session per week, although a few benefit from two sessions per week.

While your first reaction may be that private-pay will cost you more money out-of-pocket, in most cases, this system actually saves patients money by providing them with more effective treatments requiring fewer visits.

The Bottom Line

Why make 18–24 visits to a physical therapist when you can receive better results in 3–6 visits? Most people find it difficult to take an hour out of their day three days a week to go to treatments—not to mention, gas, traffic, and childcare. Especially if you have a high-deductible, high-copay insurance plan, the benefits of choosing Maximum Impact Physical Therapy for your treatment are even greater!
